ORGANIZATION
Amuse was founded by Lee Ryder in 2002 as a small ensemble of 12-16 singers to provide highly-skilled amateur singers the opportunity to rehearse and perform at a more demanding level than is offered by other choruses and ensembles in New York City.

Our goals for the ensemble are:
• no more than two to four singers per part
• repertory with up to eight part divisi
• a capella works
• a balance of repertory drawn from all centuries
• sacred and secular classical works with more emphasis on sacred work
• repertory sung in the original language in which it was written

Amuse is not a membership organization; qualified singers are invited to sing with Amuse after successfully auditioning.

Amuse is incorporated as a not for profit corporation in the State of New York and is tax exempt pursuant to chpater 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
